Lone Lake - Whidbey Island
If you have tired of chasing salmon, you might head over to Lone Lake on Whidbey Island and do a little fly fishing. The reports have been fairly good for some nice sized rainbows in the 14 - 16 inch range. With fall weather and the water temperatures dropping the fish have gone into their Fall feeding to put on some weight to overwinter. This is perhaps the best fishing opportunity of the years to have some very fine fishing. Though many fishermen are still fishing Chrinomids and doing well, this is the time of the year where some larger leech offerings come into there own. You might try leech patterns in black, olive, maroon, burgundy or combinations of those colors for some excellent results.
