Area 10 - Blackmouth

Pete and Toby (WDFW Survey Fishermen) stopped by this morning to pick up a little tackle to replace the gear that they have recently lost as it was too rough for them to get out. They mentioned that they had fished the Oil Dock area on this side and had sampled blackmouth up to around 9 pounds. They mentioned that the fishing had not been "Hot" by any means but if you put in the time you could scratch out some fish. They mentioned that Gary Krein on the Morning Star was out today but was sticking close to home down out of Shilshole, just in case it continued to kick up.

Once Area 9 opens on November 1st, Pete and Toby will be switching areas and coming north to sample. They are looking forward to fishing this area as they have heard nothing but good reports of nice sized blackmouth into the mid-teens being caught and released by anglers targeting coho.
