The Cascade River has been "Kickin' Butt" the last couple of days with some outstanding coho fishing on this tributary of the Skagit. Most all the fishing is being done on the first couple of holes at the hatchery and below. The fish have been from dollar bright to firetrucks and you have to wade through them if you are wanting to take them home. Size wise they have been from 3 to 13 pounds, no real toads but respectable coho none the less.
Gear wise most everyone that has been connecting has been fishing floats with eggs, floats with jigs tipped with sand shrimp or bouncing corkie and egg combos.
With the high water over the weekend the coho have just poured into the system. We should see some fair fishing for the next few days.
