We're starting to see a number of chum salmon showing in the catches both on the Snohomish and Stillagumish systems. At least at the present they are being hooked incidental to the coho most fishermen are targeting. We should see the numbers of these tenacious fighters increase as the month goes on with late October and November being the time to target them here in our northern Puget Sound Streams.
Shawn that works here at the shop mentioned that he and the friends he was fishing with on Friday managed to hook five on the Snohomish just out of the tide water.
With the rains that we are expecting this week should bring in some fresh coho as well as as few more chums and do us a favor and clear out a few more of the over the hill pinks!
