We are getting some fair blackmouth reports out of Marine Area 10 this week from some of the guys fishing Jefferson Head and the Kingston area. Most of the fish that we have heard of are from the 22" minimum size limit up to around 9 pounds. Not any real toads by any means but respectable winter blackmouth none the less. Everyone that has been successful has been fishing the contours of the drop offs and fishing between 90 - 120 foot depth range on average. As far as gear goes, those that I have spoken with have been fishing either flashers and squid combo's or flashers and spoons. With the low light conditions go to something that is a "Glow" finish.
There is still an odd coho being caught, however most have nothing but the river on their minds and have no thought of feeding.
We have also heard of an odd chum (dog) being caught. We should see a real push of them this next week with the rains and the change in the weather.
