Smelt Fishing - Coronet Bay, Oak Harbor & Everett Waterfront
Smelting has been fairly good at Coronet Bay, Oak Harbor & the Everett waterfront. We have heard of good catches from all there of these spots over the pas week or so. Most angers are at least getting enough for a meal or two with some anglers catching their 10 pound limit. Most are finding the last couple of hours of the incoming tide and the first couple of the outgoing have generally been the most consistent producer providing that there has not been too much of a tidal swing. There have been a good number of herring being caught along with the smelt. The Gamakatsu Smelt/Herring jigs with white fish skin in a size 4 or 5 have been the ticket.
