Lone Lake - Whidbey Island
Fly fishing at Lone Lake on Whidbey has not been too bad recently. With the warmer winter weather and a little break from the rain the past couple of days has resulted in an opportunity to get out and flex the rod. Most of the fish have been going from around 12 inches to the largest pushing just past the 20 inch mark. As far as patterns go we have been hearing basic leech patterns in smaller sizes in brown, black, olive and maroon. The other fly that has been recently successful has been San Juan worms in brown, red or maroon. This fishery should hold up well this winter as long as we don't receive any long periods of really cold freezing weather.
