Skykomish Steelhead

John was up at Reiter yesterday for a couple of hours and managed to hook a couple and land one of them. He said that the action was quite slow and during the time he was there his was the only fish. He did see one going out when he first got there and talked with another fisherman that had hooked two but did not manage to hang onto any. Overall, the fishing for the hatchery fish has slowed considerably (as it should this time of year). We have heard of a few wild fish being caught and released in the lower portion of the river this past week but I would by no means say that the fishing was good. We should start to see better numbers of wild fish this next week until the closure at the end of February. That is if the WDFW keeps it open until then!
