Over this past weekend we have finally heard of some fairly good coho fishing from the beaches here in Area 9. We have had a few of the Island boys in this morning that were in getting gear and they mentioned that the western beaches of the island all turned out some fair numbers of coho over the weekend. They mentioned that most of the fish were in the 5 to 6 pound range with an occasional one to eight. Most were fishing Wanabees (Rotators) or Buzz Bombs.
We also had one of the guys in this AM that had been fishing the beach at Point No Point on Saturday and he also said they had a good number of fish that morning also.
This is just the start of the coho fishing and we should see good fishing from now until the first part of October.
We have good numbers of Wanabees (Rotators) and Buzz Bombs in stock and can fill you in on the beach fisheries in the area.
