Blackmouth Reports

Wish I could say that we have had nothing but outstanding blackmouth reports coming in, but that has not been the case! Overall, the fishing has been very disappointing! We have heard of a few decent fish in the 10 - 13 pound range, but there are no numbers of fish being landed. I spoke with one of the customers (he called from the boat) a little while ago and in the past 2 days he has had just a single legal fish of 10 1/2 pounds. He talked with just about everyone on the Possession Bar and there were just a couple of fish landed amongst them. He mentioned that there were virtually no shakers, having landed just a single blackmouth and 3 small coho shakers in the past couple of days.

The folks fishing up in Saratoga have not fared any better! Hopefully, the fish may not have come into the Sound and are still to come. Though I would say that is wishful thinking on my part. We'll just have to wait and see. With the Bayside Derby this weekend perhaps we will get a better idea of what is happening.
