Columbia River Commercial Catch Results - From Tuesday's Fishery

The commercial gill net salmon fishery that took place this past Tuesday night was less than spectacular. In this fishery there were 1,263 Chinook caught as well as 4 sturgeon for 150 deliveries. The expected catch was anticipated at 2,700 Chinook. Out of the fish caught approximately 2/3 of these fish were of upriver stocks based upon Visual Stock Identification (VSI).

With the commercials doing this poorly, it is no wonder that the sport fishing has been less than spectacular also.

The sport fishery will continue through April 4th! Will we get any additional time? Only time will tell!
