Snohomish Pink Salmon

Spoke with John Thomas (Rotten Chum Guide Service) this AM to see how the Snohomish was treating him with today's opener. John was fishing the upper Snohomish out of tide water and said that they had hooked over 30 fish and had landed perhaps 20. He mentioned that some of the fish had a little color already, an indication that they had been in the river for awhile. The fish overall were good sized with most in the 6 to 6 1/2 pound range. We'll see if we can add to this a little later today.

A couple of the customers were fishing the main Snohomish below Hwy 9 bridge and had a "Great" morning of pink fishing twitching squid bodied jigs. They said that between them they had around 40 pinks.

Spoke with John Thomas around 5:30 this evening and he was with his second set of clients for the day. He said that they had already hooked around 40 fish and that there was just wave after wave of fish entering the hole he was fishing. John said that he was doing the best fishing jigs under a float tipped with a piece of shrimp.
