Port Angeles Halibut Derby

Jeff Reynolds of Port Angeles is $5,000 richer today after winning the 12th Port Angeles Halibut Derby with a 112-pound fish.>>>The Port Angeles Salmon Club sponsored 58 salmon derbies, 11 halibut derbies amd Reynolds became the first to win a title twice.


Tom Bihler of Edmonds scaled a 97 for $2,500; Mike Constant took a check of $1,500 for a 93 and Clarence Long of Marysville won $1,200 for a 92, beating his fishing buddy Bruce Forester who had an 88 Saturday.

Devon Hill of Joyce won $1,000 for an 80, Jess Long had a 77 for $800, Larry McConnell of Chimacum was next with a 72 for $500.

There were 668 entrants and the low fish to win a prize was 45 pounds by David May of Olalla.
