The reports that we are receiving from Sitka have been nothing short of "Outstanding". Talked with Eddy Sisom form Scales and Tales earlier this week. On Tuesday he said the group he had landed some 35 - 40 kings for the 4 anglers and 20 some incidental coho. Eddy said the kings were typical hatchery sized fish in the high teen to mid twenty pound range and the coho were good sized for this early in the season averaging around eight pounds with a couple pushing ten.
From what it sounded like there were good numbers of fish caught from Salisbury Sound to Sitka Sound along the west side of Kruzof Island. Also heard from Tom Ohaus of Angling Unlimited and he also said the fishing was quite good. Tom does have a few openings if anyone is interested. Fishing should just get better for the kings right up until the commercial opener the first of July.
