Kokanee - Lake Samish

One of the customers stopped by this afternoon to get some more gear. He had fished Lake Samish on Sunday for Kokanee and had taken limits (five per person) for himself and his partner. Though the fish are not as large as Lake Stevens on average but they were a respectable 11 - 13 inch average. He found the fish in the 30 - 40 foot depth range and were taken on a Gamakatsu Flat Blade Spinner Rig baited Shoe Peg corn soaked with Krill Scent fished behind a 50/50 Brass/Nickle Gold Star Kokanee Dodger. He had talked with another angler that was taking out as they were launching that had limited in 45 minutes with a conventional Cow Bell style troll with a wedding ring spinner.

He said it was quite pleasant to fish here as it did not have the hordes of PWC's and water skiers that one has to contend with at Stevens and the number of fishermen were quite minimal.
