Great Salmon Fishing

The coho fishing in Marine Areas 9 & 10 still continue to produce quite well.  Limits are still more often the rule rather than the exception.  The past couple of days some of the guys are saying that they are having to work a little more diligently to get their fish.  Overall the best and most consistent fishing remains in the Mukilteo down to Shilshole areas.  The area right off Edmonds has been very consistent for over a month now.  We should see good fishing through the end of the month.  This year has provided perhaps the best season on silvers that we have seen in the past 25 years.  Why? I don't think anyone has an idea.

Rotators Back In Stock

With the beach fisheries as hot as they have been this season it has been quite difficult to keep gear on hand.  We had another delivery of rotators this afternoon.  We have good numbers of the following models.

Both Large and Small Rotators in the following color combinations:

Chartreuse with Chartreuse Mylar
Chartreuse with Lime Green Mylar
Chartreuse with Chartreuse Mylar and Lime green Mylar

We should have enough for at least to mid week.

Snohomish River Coho

For those of you that have been wondering if any coho have made it to the Snohomish River as of yet - the answer is YES!  We have had a number of customers that have already caught coho out of the lower Snohomish and even a few have been taken up river into the Skykomish.  Most fish have been caught trolling plugs in the lower river.  Brad's Wigglers, Storm Wiggle Warts and Yakima Bait Fat Fish have all been accounting for fish in the box.  Colors patters such as Fluorescent Red, Fire Tiger and Fluorescent Red Herring Bone have all been productive.  The river fishery is just getting started and will only continue to get better as time passes.

We have lots of river coho gear in stock and have lots more coming in.

Coho Fishing - Edmonds Area

The reports that we had from the Edmond's area so far this morning have been nothing short of outstanding!  We have spoke with a number of our customers and each and every one have said that the fishing was the best they have seen all season.  Not only did they have very easy limits but said that everyone they spoke with also had limits.  Most of the fish were in the 4 - 7 pound range with a few larger fish mixed in.  If you are going to fish coho this season, now is the time to get out there.

Coho - Marine Areas 8-2, 9 & 10

Coho fishing continues to be quite good in all of our local Marine areas.  This fishing should continue at least for the next few weeks.

In Marine Area 8 -2 :  We finally seeing some fair fishing in the Humpy Hollow, Naketa Beach, Shipwreck and Picnic Point areas.  Though this fishery is definitely not as hot as the Edmonds area it has started to produce some fair catches over the weekend and the first part of this week.  We had one of the customers stop by this afternoon and had three nice ten pound coho in his fish box.  This area is traditionally a staging area for coho bound for the Snohomish and Stillagumish River systems.  This area should see some very good fishing over the next couple of weeks.

Marine Area 9 :  Fishing has been nothing short of outstanding now for the better part of three weeks.  We have not seen coho fishing like this for many, many years.  The best area overall will be from Browns Bay (north of Edmonds) south to the Area 10 line.  Fishing just right out in front of Edmonds has been very good, and many are kicking out of the Edmonds Marina on just their trolling motors and never even start their mains as the fishing is just that close.  In the past few days we are starting to see some larger coho showing in the catches.  One of the customers had a nice pair of 14 pound coho on Monday in the Point No Point area and we heard of another in this class caught the same day just south of there on the Kingston side.

Marine Area 10 :  The top end of of Marine Area 10 and all the way to West Point has been as productive as the Edmonds Area for the past few weeks.  The whole shoreline area from Edmonds, Richmond Beach, Boeing Creek and south has been nothing short of outstanding fishing .

With the fishing the way it has been, if you want to get in on some good action this is the time you should get out.  Don't Wait!

Rotators Are Back In Stock

We just received another shipment of Rotators.  I think we have enough to make it through the weekend.  Lots of Chartreuse color combinations.

Coho Reports - Marine Areas 9 & 10

We have had everything from soup to nuts as far as coho reports this morning.  We have had folks in this AM that had easy limits of coho in short order and off the water in no time.  We have also had a number of customers that have called in that have not done well either.  You have to remember that this are migrating fish and where you found them one day does not necessarily mean that you are going to find them there the next day.  These fish can move 6 - 10 miles on a tide change just riding the tide and not even have to move a fin to do such. Deciding where to fish is at best a guess every day, sometimes the fish will be there and sometimes they are not.  Try and observe what is happening around you.  If you are not getting fish but see fish being caught a few hundred yards away from you then move to where you are seeing them caught.  This time of year 100 yards will be the difference in getting skunked or having limits.

We are still seeing more folks that are having success than not, overall I would still have to say that the fishing has been quite good.
